THE PLOT:

In a distant future, the earth is all but destroyed and humans are crammed into huge cities called Mega Cities and the red tape of the judicial system has been cut out. Justice is being handed out by the Judges. Cops that pass sentence on offenders. They are the arresting officer, judge, jury and if need be, executioner.

The best at this job is Joseph Dredd, who eats, breaths and has sex with the letter of the law. A TV Journist is fixated with Dredd, thinking that the Judge system is wrong and when he is murdered, Dredd is framed for the crime.

But Rico is old partner and friend is behind the frame job and there is a conspiracy that if uncovered will rock the very Judges concil itself. Now Dredd and a computer Hacker named Fergie must uncover this conspiracy or die trying.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

I got to admit I know nothing on the comic book or as the Political Correct dorks put it now, Graphic Novels. But I must admit I liked this movie. The only time I read anything with Judge Dredd when the two companies crossed over and Dredd went through time to fight Batman. That's it. The effects are impressive, there is tons of action. But doesn't the Constitution guarantee the right to a trial by jury? So the comic book and this movie raises questions of ethics. So, not only do you have a great and funny action movie. But you have something to think about, the ethics behind the Judge program. I don't know why this movie didn't do well in the box office, I went to see it and I don't go to see many movies in the theater. I think it's underrated and I give this movie 8 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree. But I heard that Judge Dredd never removed his helmet. But of course, he never was convited of a crime before either. But also I felt some of the dialog was over the top and there was a dialog error. 7 1/2 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story works and it makes you think.)
+ ROBOTS (The effects are really cool.)
+ ACTION (Never dull.)
+ HUMOR (As a sense of humor running through it.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- ETHICAL QUESTION (They might have delved more about the ethical questions about getting rid of trial by jury.)
- DIALOG (Some of the dialog is a tad cheesy.)
- SOUND ERROR (VOLTRON saw a sound mistake.)
- DREDD'S FACE (Apparently in the comic, Dredd doesn't have a face.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (Somed fans of the comic may not like Judge Dredd the movie, but if you don't know much about the comic we think you'll enjoy it.)
